BIOGRAPHY

Alexandra Kalacheva (born July 10, 1982, Almaty) - artist and illustrator, member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Lives and works in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Graduated from the Republican Art College of Almaty with a degree in machine-tool graphics (2001). In 2005 she graduated from the faculty of "painting" with a degree in "painter - monumentalist" of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov. She also graduated with master’s degree from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts T. Zhurgenov (2007). 2005-2010 taught at the Department of Painting of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov.

Alexandra Kalacheva in her graphic sheets and paintings demonstrates the rejection of realism in favor of stylization, conventionality and decorativeness. The form is flat, and the expressiveness of the lines gives it primary importance.
