In 2000, Zita Sultanbaeva, together with Ablikim Akmullaev, created the art duet ZITABL, in which they actively and vividly participated in exhibitions of contemporary art in Berlin (2002), Geneva (2002), St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg (2002), Novosibirsk (2003) in Bonn, Stuttgart and Paris (2003), Ganja (2007), Tbilisi (2009), Perm (2012), Strasbourg (2014). The couple creates and experiments in different genres: Zitta - in graphics, and Ablikim - in painting.
Zita Sultanbaeva (born July 30, 1964, the city of Almaty), lives and works in Almaty. Kazakhstani contemporary artist, art critic, journalist, author of the book “Art Atmosphere of Alma-Ata”. Graduated from the Gogol Art School, department of monumental painting (1984). From 1983–84, 1987 she was a student of the script workshop at the Kazakhfilm film studio. In 1989 she graduated from the Alma-Ata Theater and Art Institute named after A. Zhurgenov, Faculty of Industrial Graphics. Laureate of the international award established by the non-conformist magazine "Tamir" - "Golden Asyk" in the field of contemporary art (2014).
Zita Sultanbaeva, in addition to traditional easel graphics, actively works in various genres of contemporary art. Zita works in the field of video art, installation and photography.
Ablikim Akmullaev - born in 1965, was born, lives and works in Almaty. Since 1987 he has been a member of the Green Triangle underground group. Curator and participant of alternative exhibitions. Together with his wife Zita Sultanbaeva, he is a member of the art duo ZITABL.
